I FEEL very sad when people complain about our National Health Service. I have been a voluntary WRVS worker for 17 years at Blackburn Infirmary and, during that time, I have witnessed great care by all staff in all departments.
I also have taken patients by ambulance and taxi as out-patients, and at all times they have been treated with respect, great care and nothing has been too much trouble. They do at times have to wait either for a consultant, or an ambulance, but everything is done to make their waiting time more comfortable.
We cannot do without our hospitals; we all need attention at some period in our lives, so please give thanks for them all.
