Fashion fun

A FASHIONABLY fun evening was organised by the Parent Teachers and Friends Association of Darwen Vale High School.

Fourteen pupils from year 11 strutted the catwalk, displaying a range of clothing from "George" at Asda and by Etam.

There were also demonstrations, consultations and displays of beauty products and accessories on view in the school library.

Darwen Vale High School and the PTFA would like to thank all the contributors and sponsors who kindly donated their time, effort and very generous raffle prizes, helping to make the event such a success.

BOB BLOCKLEY and TRACEY BOND - teachers, Darwen Vale High School.

Getting in the know

PUPILS from year seven at Witton Park High School, Blackburn, with teacher Gwen Onyon, learnt the workings of an electronic picture desk from deputy picture editor Neil Johnson during a visit to see newspaper production at our head office and printing plant.

The group have been working through our Story Search reading scheme for the past three weeks.

Funding towards the cost of transport for the visit was supplied by East Lancs Education Business Partnerships.
