I READ with utter disgust your article (LET, November 11) about banning of 'A-boards' and pavement displays.
I would like to know if the rule applies to the statue of the lady with a child on Blackburn Boulevard or horrible gates on Northgate and Town Hall Street - both dangerous and a waste of money - or the stupid metal objects of so-called art on Blakey Moor.
Does the rule apply to the riding of bikes on our pavements? Many are the times we have seen an A-board and stopped at the shop displaying it. The ban will kill trade. What idiotic scheme next, one wonders.
