A JEWELLER is hoping to help a young East Lancashire ice skater put some sparkle into her promising career.
Twelve-year-old Dannielle Guppy, who is coached by Olympic ice skater Stephen Pickavance, has secured a sponsorship deal with Blackburn-based Peter Jackson.
The jeweller has offered to help the Blackburn youngster in her quest to become one of the best in the UK.
He said: "If we are to be world leaders in the sport field and win Olympic Gold medals, we need to invest in talented young people now.
"Dannielle skates like an angel and it is a pleasure and a privilege to be involved with tomorrow's world champions."
She started skating in 1992 and she is hoping to qualify for the British Junior Championships in November 1998.
Mr Jackson is also in discussions to provide a prize to the 'man of the match' at every Lancashire Hawks home match.
