BRITISH Airways offered £147 million for British Caledonian - £90 million less than it had bid the previous July.
The merger would mean at least 2,000 job losses, BA said. The initial offer had lapsed automatically after the Monopolies Commission was asked to investigate the proposed deal.
Trade and Industry Secretary Lord Young had confirmed the merger of BA and BCal could go ahead.
