PENDLE Council is congratulating itself for a job well done.
Its latest facts and figures compiled to comply with the Citizen's Charter confirm it gives value for money and has improved the quality of services with a better bin collection, easier access to public buildings, cleaner streets and quicker land search enquiries for home buyers.
Chief executive Stephen Barnes said: "The Council has shown a solid improvement in many service areas despite being cash frozen for six years running.
"Pendle Council has almost the same population as Burnley and has £2 million per year less to spend on services. However, all our staff have worked enormously hard to increase efficiency and reduce waste, as these figures will testify."
