A BIZARRE attack on a parked car only ended when Thomas O'Brien had smashed his way through the glass sun roof.
And magistrates at Bury heard how not content with just damaging the Ford Fiesta, the 26-year-old then climbed through the broken glass and began to bounce up and down on the seats gesturing at passing motorists through the glass sun roof.
The court was told how earlier O'Brien had been seen walking around the car park close to the town's new Tesco store. He was described as acting in a "disturbed" manner and was seen to approach the parked Fiesta.
Then, without warning, he began to bang on the roof until the glass was shattered.
In court O'Brien of Chesham Road, Bury, pleaded guilty to destroying the £400 sun roof without lawful excuse.
He told the court that at the time he was going through a severe emotional period and had little recollection of his activities.
The case was adjourned until December 10 for pre-sentence reports to be prepared.
