I WAS disgusted to read (Letters, November 12) that St Dunstan's, the charity caring for blinded ex-servicemen and women, had their appeal turned down by the National Lottery Charities Board.
Men and women who fought for their country and made sacrifices, which would be unimaginable to younger generations, should be up on the Lottery priority lists.
Yet past, but hopefully not present, governments have neglected these heroes too. I hope St Dunstan's can raise the money to carry on their good work and that those in power remember the survivors of past wars who served their country.
