A PRIEST was banned from driving for six months after failing to take a roadside breath test and later failing to give a specimen of breath for analysis.
Fr Thomas Gagie, 44, of St Gabriel's, Higher Fold, Leigh was banned by Leigh Magistrates and fined £150 with £50 costs.
Prosecuting Mrs Lauren Strang said the offences were committed at 1.55am when police spoke to him as he sat in his vehicle.
For Fr Gagie, Mr Peter Morgan said the priest had been threatened by four youths while taking his dog for a walk and decided it would be safer in his car. He had only moved it a few yards when the police arrived.
