ANDY Preece headed a 74th minute winner to end Burnley's seven-match unbeaten run and put a smile on Seasiders boss Nigel Worthington's face.
The Blackpool manager enjoyed this 2-1 derby victory over former Sheffield Wednesday team-mate Chris Waddle.
Worthington said: "The drinks are on me tonight. I'm delighted with the performance and pleased for Andy who is getting some reward for his hard work."
The Seasiders had to come from behind to take the points.
A rare defensive error by David Linighan in the 14th minute allowed Gerry Creaney to round Steve Banks and give the Clarets the lead.
Ten minutes later Paul Weller appeared to be brought down by Banks in the area but the referee waved away Burnley's penalty appeals.
Tony Ellis had a great opportunity to equalise on the half hour when he played a neat one-two with James Quinn, but he took too long over his shot and Lee Harvey had time to block his effort.
Blackpool's all important equaliser came four minutes from the break.
Preece played a short corner to Lee Philpott who delivered a perfect cross for Phil Clarkson to head home from less than a yard out.
Eight minutes after the interval, Preece almost gave Pool the lead but his close-range effort struck the inside of the post and trickled agonisingly along the goalline.
But the in-form striker had the final say when he headed home the winner on 74 minutes.
