HINDLEY Green man David Cass has one again launched an appeal for local people to send his their used postage stamps.

For David, of Leigh Road, has so far collected in excess of 55,000 stamps in his continuing quest to help The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

And as each Christmas time approaches, David urges the people of Journal-land to remember the charity and send stamps from their Christmas card envelopes to him, no matter how few or how many.

David R. Herbert, Fundraising Manager for the Association, said: "I now understand that David has now collected in excess of 50,000 used stamps, which really is an excellent effort. David has worked extremely hard to organise this collection of stamps which in turn he passes on to the Association and we then sell the stamps to use the funds to enable the Association to continue its work of training and providing more Guide Dogs for blind people."

Anyone with used stamps to donate can send them to David Cass at 377 Leigh Road, Hindley Green, WN2 4XL.
