A RESCUE team struggled through strong winds and torrential rain to bring a man stranded near the top of Pendle Hill for two days to safety.
Ambulance crews, two walkers and a policeman took part in the rescue operation involving a special stretcher and an ambulance Range Rover.
Philip Atkinson, 56, was rushed to Burnley General Hospital suffering from exposure.
