SINCE its launch five months ago, this newspaper's Drive Out Drugs campaign has helped to trap large numbers of dealers and given help and advice to scores of people snared by the evil of drug addiction.
Now, the campaign receives a major boost that will step up the war all across our region.
Representatives from the health service, education, the police, prison service, social services, youth organisations and volunteer groups have teamed up with the Drive Out Drugs crusade.
The partnership will use our pages to provide vital information aimed at educating people about the effects of drug abuse as well as telling addicts, their families and friends about the help available to them.
Drugs have brought crime, misery and death to our community. But only if the community unites against this evil can it be defeated. Drive Out Drugs is both our way and yours to win that war.
