A HEAD teacher spoke of the benefits a £2 million building scheme had brought to his school during its annual presentation evening.
Richard Bridges told a packed hall of students past and present, staff and parents about the improvements Darwen Moorland High had seen in the areas of information technology and drama.
Guest of honour at the event was Christopher Trinick, Lancashire County Council's chief education officer.
During his address Mr Bridges thanked groups and individuals who had supported the school during the last year including parents, TFA members, governors and the Education Business Partnership.
He said: "Nothing is possible without dedicated team of teaching and support staff keeping the learning process alive for generations coming through."
He went on to describe the increasing pressure on schools to perform and added: "Moorland accepts that challenge and has a very clear direction.
"At the centre of our focus are students and underpinning this is increasing involvement of all partners in learning."
