TWO of Hall Park County Primary School's most talented pupils have been recruited by the Northern Ballet Theatre to star in its magical recreation of A Christmas Carol.

James Edgar, aged eight, and nine-year-old Keaton Dickinson, will play the role of Tiny Tim on alternate nights at the Grand Theatre next week.

The role involves singing a poignant solo piece - and being the only part in the ballet where a solo voice is heard, the boys will have an outstanding opportunity to create maximum impact.

Since the age of four, the boys have been under the tutorage of Peter Jebson - the school's dedicated music teacher - who has helped them rehearse for their role of Tiny Tim.

He said: "Both boys have always shown great promise from the start, having played lead roles in both school and outside productions."

James, of Brook Road, Lytham, said he was "looking forward to playing Tim and meeting the cast" and felt quite confident about performing on the opening night of the show.

He is no stranger to the theatre, having played a main role with the Lytham Operatic Society at Lowther Gardens Pavilion.

Keaton, of Oxford Road, St Annes, is also looking forward to appearing in the ballet, along with his family who he said were "very excited about the show".

Keaton is also an accomplished tap dancer, having performed with Rainbow Dance Studios in their Christmas productions.

Both boys advocated that singing was their favourite subject at school and they seemed extremely excited about having the opportunity to sing in the ballet.

Children have been picked before from Hall Park school in South Park, Lytham, to perform in similar productions, such as the highly acclaimed Joseph, starring Phillip Schofield.

A Christmas Carol will open on November 25 and run until November 30. Tickets can be booked on 290190.
