ON November 19, from just a few feet away, I witnessed an articulated lorry's attempt to negotiate Sudell Cross roundabout, which is oval, in Blackburn.
It uprooted the first bollard on Richmond Terrace and crunched the railing because it couldn't get round.
Why can't Sudell Cross be the smart and attractive landmark it used to be?
Why can't we have a round roundabout?
Why all the wasted pavements?
Why can't we have King William Street as a right of way?
Why can't we, therefore, have something done to improve matters before someone is hurt by crumpled railings or knocked down by a bollard weighing a ton?
I also spoke to some of the shopkeepers there who agreed what a mess it is!
