CULCHETH EAGLES are back flying high in the Rugby League ranks after an absence of six years.

Based at the Daten club in the village, they have made an unbeaten start to the season and are making a huge impact in their comeback year.

The RL side folded back in 1991, flirting briefly with Rugby Union.

Again playing out of Shaw Street, the Eagles have recruited several old faces including former St Helens winger Sean Day and ex-Leigh flyer Wayne Standish.
