PENDLE'S new rural dean is to be the Rev Ed Saville, vicar of Brierfield.
Mr Saville, 50, takes on the extra role for three years starting in January.
He succeeds the Rev Gary Ingram, vicar of Holy Trinity, Colne, who is moving to Morecambe.
Mr Saville, a graduate of the Open University, was ordained in 1990 and came to St Luke's in 1995.
He is an advocate of Christian social action and was at the forefront of the Lancashire churches' response to national consultation on faith and employment.
