A LOCAL woman has won herself a top modelling contract after entering a competition "for a laugh"!
Susan Carlick (26, pictured) stunned judges in London with her full-bodied 34E-30-42 figure in the Woman Magazine 16+ Model of the Year competition
The former Bury Grammar School pupil was one of six finalists from across the country to hit the catwalk at a Park Lane hotel on Tuesday in front of a judging panel that included TV presenter Vanessa Feltz.
Susan, of Stand Lane, only entered as a joke to placate her Aunt Hilary who kept telling her to send off an application!
She said: "I have battles with my weight to remain at a dress size 16, but I am lucky that I have a curvaceous figure which is in proportion to my height."
It proved a winning formula as the purpose of the competition was to encourage the skinny-obsessed fashion industry to use models who more accurately represent the average British woman.
As well as working for the leading model agency Excell, Susan also won £1,500 of clothing vouchers.
