SCHOOL inspectors have identified Leigh CE Junior School as attaining "outstanding achievements" on a recent five-day visit.
And, they say, pupils are achieving higher standards than normal in English, Mathematics and Science because "the headteacher, staff and governors work very hard" with "a high standard of teaching".
The inspectors added they were amazed at the speed some pupils worked - describing it as "breathtaking".
Headteacher Brian Fawcett said: "We are obviously pleased that after a full week of inspection the hard work, commitment and achievements of governors, teachers, support staff, parents and pupils who have made our school what it is has been recognised so positively by the inspectors."
