BOLTON Wanderers are gearing up for an assault on Ewood Park this weekend.
Hit-man Nathan Blake gave them both last night's win over Newcastle, and their second win in 48 hours - and vindicated Bolton boss Colin Todd sees no reason why he can't make it a hat-trick.
"We've got a difficult game at Blackburn on Saturday." he said. "But we've kept three clean sheets on the bounce and I'm not concerned that we're not seen to be scoring many goals.
"Without being negative, if we win 1-0 from now to the end of the season I'll be happy."
Star striker Blake fired Wanderers out of the Premiership danger zone and into 13th place with a 21st minute strike, as the Premiership strugglers answered the call to arms from 24,000 fans at the Reebok Stadium.
Newcastle hardly made an impact on a solid Bolton defence, with a commanding performance from former Lazio player Mark Fish in the centre.
And, at the other end Todd reckons could have made it more. "I thought we were much more likely to get the second, but we just lost that competitive edge in the final third.
"But we stayed compact, played for each other and kept moving the ball and we showed great resilience when Newcastle won more possession after the break."
Dean Holdsworth almost sealed it 19 minutes from time when he picked up Per Frandsen's incisive pass on the edge of the area to force a superb save from Shaka Hislop.
Fish, who has been nothing short of a revelation since arriving at Bolton two months ago, is doubtful for the trip to Ewood due to international commitments.
The South African international has been called up for a friendly against Brazil on Sunday, but Todd is confident that the player will figure.
Team: Branagan, Frandsen, Pollock, Sellars, Blake, Thompson, Bergsson, Todd, Fish, Whitlow, Holdsworth. Subs (not used): Ward, Beardsley, Johansen, Phillips, Gunnlaugsson.
