FOUR senior Polish trade union officials will visit British Aerospace in Lancashire this week.
The delegation, including leaders of the Solidarity union, will be the guests of BAe's management and unions and will be briefed on the Eurofighter and Gripen aircraft, as well as manufacturing techniques at the Samlesbury plant.
Frank Gornall, chair of the MSF union at Samlesbury, said: "As progress is made towards a united European aerospace industry, it is vitally important that each country's senior trade union representatives fully understand the benefits of, and are involved in, the transformation process.
"The visit is a good example of how trade union representatives from two countries can work together in harmony, trying to achieve mutually beneficial objectives.
"It complements our existing discussions with trade unionists in France, Spain, Italy, Germany and Sweden."
