A MAN who has been at the top of his profession more times than practically anyone else is to visit Hindley next month.
Mountaineer Doug Scott, the first Briton to climb Everest, will be at the Monaco Ballroom on Thursday, December 4, to talk about his experiences of climbing many of the world's top peaks.
He is one of the elite few who have climbed the highest peaks in all seven continents and he will talk about these and show photographs of the majesty of the mountains.
Nancy Winders, Manager of the Monaco Ballroom said: "You do not have to be interested in climbing to enjoy this evening, it is an opportuntiy to see some of the most beautiful parts of the world from a perspective few will ever witness."
