TWO historic car enthusiasts will take part in a fund-raising drive with a difference this month.
Keith Nolan (left) and Sean Holly will have turns behind the wheel of a rally-prepared 1964 2.1 litre Triumph TR4 car during the annual LE JOG Land's End to John O'Groats rally.
The friends aim to complete the 800-mile plus trip and raise cash for the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity.
Sean, 36, managing director of the Rockenbay Recording Studios, Colne, and Keith, 39, who has his own architectural practice in the town, are no strangers to the rally.
They have been taking part as a team in historic car events for several years. In 1995 they came third in their class in LE JOG in a 1960 Jaguar.
Last year Sean set out on his own but had to retire at Edinburgh because of mechanical problems.
"The rally is an endurance and reliability test rather than a race," explained Sean.
"The rally includes a road test against the clock, a time trial where you have to complete a set distance at an exact speed and a navigation test. There are also penalties for arriving at check points late.
"It's terrific to see historic cars on the road. We see the same people each year so it's quite a social event, too."
The cars leave Land's End on December 6 and are scheduled to arrive at the other end of the country three days later. They are due in the Trough of Bowland on December 7.
