Comment from match on November 22

PRESTON'S assistant manager David Moyes was delighted with the win and said: "The manager has worked hard with the players and they responded.

"It was a good performance and we took our chances well."

Moyes was quick to point out the contribution made by Lee Cartwright: "He took his goals well and is looking to be back to his best form. He played very well."

Moyes added: "We were much the better side, we were solid and we may be able to build on this."

David Lee, the Wigan winger, was highly critical of the team performance, saying: "We were dreadful, we just weren't at the races today and the players have to do better."

Wigan boss John Deehan described the performance as "pathetic, we showed no fight and that's inexcusable."

It was a happy Preston team coach which left Springfield Park on Saturday night (Nov 22) and now comes the tester against Fulham at Deepdale on Saturday (Nov 29).

A win, and North End could kickstart a challenge towards the front-runners.
