PONTEFRACT 0 - GRASSHOPPERS U15s 48
WITHOUT a match for three weeks and unable to find a fixture in Lancashire, Preston Grasshoppers U15s found a safe haven in Pontefract.
The journey to Yorkshire yielded 48 points without a reply from their opponents.
Prop Jonathan Wilson opened Hoppers' account, forcing a try from two yards out.
Within minutes, centre Andrew Entwistle, combining with Fergus Knight, continued the assault on the Pontefract line. Tries three and four quickly followed, the touchdowns scored by Tom Sumner and Keith Walmsley.
With half-time beckoning, flanker Daniel Walker managed an individual effort, springing down the touch-line to record a 31-0 half-time lead.
With a dummy pass, a chip over the defensive line and a successful chase for the fifth try, Knight continued Hoppers' domination after the break.
John Lewis rattled in the sixth try before second tow forward, Daniel Hammond finished off the onslaught.
Two conversion kicks from Matthew Sharples and one each from Andrew Entwistle and Mark Webster, added to Pontefract's plight before Hoppers started celebrating their return trip.
