WORRIED workers at Royal Ordnance, Blackburn, were told they would suffer no new job cuts despite the arms firm's big redundancy plans.
But about 300 jobs were to go at the firm's Chorley plant as part of the 1,300-strong cut in its nationwide workforce.
Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans had demanded a meeting with defence minister Jonathan Aitken to discuss the fall in ammunition orders.
