PEOPLE living in West Craven looked behind the doors of Pendle Council at an open day.
The event, at Barnoldswick Civic Hall, was next to the council's shop and featured a survey asking visitors their opinions on how best to improve the town centre.
Council leader Alan Davies said: "The open day formed part of our plan to make the council more accessible by showing some of the faces behind the services.
"We aim to hold more open days next year as they are part of our bid to put people first in Pendle."
As well as seeing a display of civic regalia visitors were told of the council's surgery and telephone line for complaints about roads and pavements, its community alarm system for the elderly and needy and about a business and careers advice service for women.
