THE X files will be opened in Bury, giving people the chance to go ghost-busting
The paranormal will be probed and the supernatural studied in a ten-week course to be run by Bury Council's community education service.
Mr Richard O'Neill, of Brandlesholme, who will lead the programme, said: "The aims are to investigate so-called paranormal phenomena in a controlled and common-sense way so that students can come to their own conclusions based on evidence gained from their studies."
Subjects will include auras, astrology, tarot, clairvoyance, ESP, hypnosis, dreams, UFOs, past lives, ghosts, and crop circles.
Bury Arts and Crafts Centre, Broad Street, is the venue, but there will also be investigative field trips.
