A SCHOOLGIRL is trying to stop victims of bullying from suffering in silence.
After reading about her friend Hannah Angulin's plight in last week's Bury Times, Nikita Rosser is to highlight the issue of bullying at her Sunday School youth club.
Hannah (13) of Walmersley Road, Bury, has been the victim of bullying since she was six.
Nikita said she had never been bullied and it was a shock to find out it was happening to other people.
Eleven-year-old Nikita, of Whitelegge Street, Bury, said: "I couldn't believe it when I read she was being bullied.
"I was shocked and never thought she would go through something like that."
On Sunday evening, the Elton High School pupil will take in the article to help her discuss bullying with youngsters and school leaders at St James Church, Woolfold.
Nikita said: "Children should be able to talk about being bullied and be able to bring out into the open.
She added: "I would really like to see an organisation set up to help victims of bullying."
The Rev Liz Carnelley of St James Church said the youth club welcomed Nikita's idea.
"The club is very open and we hope members can talk to leaders and bring up any worries they have," she said.
