THE Duke of Edinburgh presented 15 youngsters from St Helens with their Gold Award Certificates from the Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme earlier this week. The youngsters were among 400 young people who had taken part in the scheme. Each of the youngsters won their awards after undertaking a wide range of activities in four sections - service, expeditions, skills and physical recreation - during 18 months . Each participant also completed a residential project either in this country or abroad.
