A LONG-serving member of the St John Ambulance Brigade is to be honoured at a special ceremony in London.
Ernest Rimmer, from Woodlands Road, Haresfinch, will be invested into the Order of St John in recognition of his tireless work for the organisation since joining 37 years ago.
He will be admitted as an Officer and presented with the Insignia by the Lord Prior of the Order, Lord Vestey, on Thursday, December 4.
And Ernest, who works for North West Regional Railways, is no stranger to awards, having collected a British Empire Medal in 1993.
