RUTLAND House Veterinary Hospital is once again organising an appeal for food, blankets or donations for various animal charities in the immediate area to help cope with the numerous stray animals that will be cared for during and after the festive period.
During last year's 'Give A Stray A Christmas Dinner Appeal' organised by the surgery in Cowley Hill Lane, about 1,000 tins and bags of dry food and treats were donated.
The vets at Rutland House would also like to thank Star contributor Wally Ashcroft of the Pets Emporium in St Helens who is helping to collect donations and using his shop as a collection centre during December and January.
Donations can also be taken to Rutland House Veterinary Hospital, any day of the week (Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm; Saturday and Sunday 9am to 4pm).
Anyone who would like more information about the collection can contact Mary at Rutland House on (01744) 26148.
