STUDENTS are getting the benefit of 150 years of baking tradition and expertise from Holland's Pies of Baxenden.

The company has joined forces with the Education Business Partnership to produce an educational pack and video to teach food technology GCSE students essential food hygiene regulations and techniques.

A special project group at Holland's teamed up with students from Accrington and Rossendale College to help write and produce the video, with some of them taking starring roles. It was officially launched at the EBP headquarters on the GEC Clayton Business Park, Clayton-le-Moors, when Holland's presented the video and pack to more than 40 head teachers from around the region.

Holland's managing director Graham March said: "As a major employer and food manufacturer we know how essential food hygiene is to the success of the company.

"It is a vital part of the business and it is very important to keep up with new techniques and regulations.

"Students of food technology must ensure that hygiene is a part of their every day practice."
