LANCASTER'S MP Hilton Dawson is to vote in favour of the anti-hunting bill before the Commons on Friday.
Although there was a large pro-hunt lobby at a public meeting he recently organised, Mr Dawson said that he would vote in favour of the Wild Mammals (Hunting with Dogs) Bill. "There is an overwhelming need to ensure that the caring and compassionate society which I want to help build is reflected in the way that we treat wild animals," he explained.
"While we should recognise old traditions, I think it is important that we now look to modernize and adapt them to promote alternatives to hunting wild animals."
