THREE East Lancashire firms have scooped green awards.
Companies from across the North West were in the running for the Mersey Basin Campaign's Business and the Environment Awards.
Envelope manufacturer Chapman Industries of Darwen was one of two main winners in the competition for its environmental management systems.
Runners up included Scapa-Scandia of Blackburn which developed a process for treating felts which eliminated the use of hazardous chemicals.
And Hilden Manufacturing of Oswaldtwistle won a highly commended award for an energy efficiency drive which saved more than £80,000 a year.
