TEENAGE sadists killed a petrified kitten by dropping a concrete slab on it in the latest in a series of sickening attacks on pets.

And now cat owners in Accrington's Avenue Parade area are being warned to keep a close eye on their pets to stop them falling victim to the thugs.

The owner of the slaughtered kitten said her pet's killers used a dog to chase and terrorise her cat before they crushed it under the slab.

The woman, who does not want to be named for fear of repercussions, explained: "A friend saw them throw the dog in my backyard to chase the kitten.

"The poor little thing was hiding under the concrete slab because she was frightened. The children then dropped the slab on it."

"It is very sick. The kitten never harmed anyone, so why should they do this?."

In other mindless attacks the thugs have used the Collie dog in backyards to chase terrified cats to near exhaustion. The dog has also been thrown into elderly people's backyards to terrorise them.

The frightened cat owner has reported the sick attack to the police and now wants other owners to be on guard.

She said: "I just want people to be aware of what is going on. I wouldn't want their pets to suffer like mine had to."

Police said they had received reports of juvenile nuisance in the Avenue Parade area.
