MUSIC teacher David Goodenough proved he was good enough to land a job at one of Scotland's top schools. David, 29, of Newfield Park, Blackburn, has been appointed director of music at Fettes College, Edinburgh.
The school is said to be the Scottish equivalent of Eton and boasts Prime Minister Tony Blair as a former pupil.
News of the job was cause for a double celebration because David's wife, Claire, 23, had just given birth to their daughter, Eleanor.
The couple, who also have a son, James, two, will move to Edinburgh in time for the start of the job next September.
David, who is currently manager of the music department at the prestigious Chetham's School of Music and director of music at St Peter's Church, Darwen, said: "I'm very honoured to have got the job. It really is a prestigious place and is one of the top independent schools in the country."
