COLIN Hendry watched the World Cup draw and cracked - "I bet Ronaldo's had a sleepless night!"

The Blackburn Rovers star saw Scotland drawn against world champions Brazil in the opening game but revealed that he had already been resigned to his fate.

"As soon as we qualified, I thought 'Ah well, that's Brazil and us again, plus two others'," he said today.

"You have to be realistic. I thought we were more than capable of making history and reaching the second round, especially if we got a little bit of luck.

"But the draw has made it harder.

"You have to think that Brazil will take one of the two places and we will be the rank outsiders, because Norway will feel they are second favourites.

"But we can still upset a lot of people. Norway didn't make it to Euro 96, did they?"

Hendry has already faced Brazil's Romario, when Rovers beat Barcelona in a friendly in Spain a few years back.

As for Ronaldo, he added: "I'll be looking at it the same way as I did when facing Alan Shearer at Wembley. I wouldn't put Ronaldo in any different category. If anything, he's a bit less experienced.

"There's going to be a lot of hype but it was a great feeling watching the draw and being involved."
