A YOUNG fan who lost his autographed Blackburn Rovers shirt after a road accident has something to smile about.
The Lancashire Evening Telegraph and Blackburn Rovers teamed up to provide Steven McLaughlin, ten, with a new Number 9 shirt.
His old one, signed by all the players, was torn after he was in an accident with a car near his home in Bastwell Road, Blackburn.
Now Steven, who suffered a fractured skull, has met his hero Chris Sutton after the Evening Telegraph arranged a VIP trip to Rovers Brockhall training ground.
Players signed his shirt again and he was presented with other autographed goods during the day.
Steven, a pupil at Knuzden Junior School, is now back on the road to recovery after the accident - with a little help from Rovers and the Evening Telegraph.
