A FIVE-year-old girl is back at school three weeks after education bosses told her parents she could not attend because of her epilepsy.
Naomi Tyrie is once again playing with her friends at Moor End Primary School, Oswaldtwistle, after an agreement was reached between her parents and the school.
Her parents, Jackie and Paul, were originally told their daughter was not allowed to attend until staff were trained to administer the medication she needs in the event of fit
The couple say it is a relief for their daughter to be at school again, but they cannot understand why she was kept out in the first place.
Jackie, 28, of Cross Street, Oswaldtwistle, said: "It is the same situation as it was before. If she has a fit I have to attend to give her the treatment.
"I have signed a form to say I will give her the treatment. I want her back at school, but I feel let down.
"I still don't understand why she had to be kept out of school for three weeks."
Jackie lives only four minutes walk away from the school and, before the 'exclusion', she had been visiting the school virtually every lunchtime to give Naomi other medication for her condition.
Naomi had attended the school's nursery for a year before starting in the first year in September.
A county council spokesman said the authority was pleased Naomi had returned to school to continue with her education.
