Haydock 17 Pilkington Recs 8 HAYDOCK completed the double over their neighbours in a hard-fought game.
Both teams found ball-handling difficult in the wet conditions. But Haydock took the lead with a drop goal by Jones after seven minutes.
And the Yickers went further ahead when sustained pressure resulted in Ireland sending winger Roberts over. PIlks replied with a penalty goal. But the Yickers moived into an 11-2 interval lead when Jones collected his own kick and touched down. Ireland converted.
Pilks battled hard to get back into the game, but on 62 minutes Roberts grabbed his second try.
Recs hit back straight away with a try by Leyland, converted by Carr.
However, Haydock finally sealed ther game with an Ireland penalty. Best for Haydock were O'Garra, Jones, Wade and Bradshaw.
