WITH reference to the front page story headed 'Kamikaze Corner' in last week's Journal.
There should never have been a junction there in the first place. The old bridge used to carry steam trains, so I'm sure it could have been modernised to take today's Traffic.
The boffins who come up with these hair brained schemes, spend so much time at college and university getting degrees, but when they get a proper job they seem seem to lose all common sense and responsibility.
Traffic waiting to get in to Leigh could do so from Pennington or Kirkhall Lane. Shoppers in cars wanting to get to Sainsbury's should have been made to use the traffic lights for ASDA, thus making one less exit on this now hectic take your life in to your own hands roundabout.
So having had two goes at trying to get it right, get the road closed and get a bridge back.
