POLICE investigating a murder in Leicester want to question a man they think could be on the streets of Preston.
Detectives are anxious to trace 29-year-old Osron Oscar Samuel, also known as Hamsa Latif, as part of inquiries which have brought them to the North West.
It's thought he may have been one of a group of people at the scene of a shooting in Leicester the early hours of August 8. A man later died in hospital.
The man leading the murder hunt, Detective Chief Inspector Michael Grant, said: "There are a few places in the country where our inquiries have taken us and one of those is Preston. This man could be there.
"I would appeal to people to think about who they have seen in their neighbourhood and if they have even the faintest suspicions that there's someone who could be this man to call us. We'll be happy to check all calls."
Detectives have identified, traced and spoken to dozens of people in the area at the time of the murder but it's known there were others there including a black man and several Asians.
Samuel is black, 5ft 11ins, with brown eyes and wears Moslem clothing and a prayer hat. When last seen he had a beard and moustache. Anyone with information should call the incident room on (0116) 222 2222 ext 6819 or call Crimestoppers on (0800) 555 111 and all calls will be dealt with in confidence.
