AWAY from its strippergram scandal, Lancashire Constabulary has something to celebrate - a big boost for recruitment.
Some 50 more officers are to be added to the force. That's bad news for the criminals and great news for the community.
But do you remember when, when year after year, the county used to plead for the cash for more bobbies and the Home Office was always unmoved despite rising crime?
Contrast this with the new Labour government's attitude. It has upped the spending straight away and Lancashire Police gets its much-needed manpower boost.
Isn't that much more in tune with the public's priorities on fighting crime?
