A MAN who put the fun into fund-raising has died, aged 57.
Cliff James, of Canterbury Close, Atherton was the life and soul of the party when the Atherton-based charity champions Conspin Lads and Lassies held their Monday night free and easies.
Kidney sufferers, the elderly, young arthritics, heart care patients and seriously ill hospital patients all benefited from Conspin founder member Cliff's antics.
Organising free coal for old folk or singing "The Blackpool Belle" with his flat-capped mate Bill Partington at charity nights were equally enjoyable to transport manager Cliff.
He died in Bolton General Hospital last Wednesday after being admitted with a stroke the previous weekend. The funeral took place yesterday (Wednesday) at Overdale.
