Clock Face Miners 20 Leigh East 4 CLOCK Face impressively maintained their unbeaten home record.
Despite the heavy pitch, both teams started at a fast pace, and the visitors opened the scoring after 10 minutes with an unconverted try.
Clock then started to hit back with Cooney, Walsh, and Devine all going close. And Barber put Clock level, when he touched down wide out.
Paul Cooney slotted over a penalty to give them a slender half-time lead.
Straight after the break Clock extended their lead when a kick through from Cooney was followed up by Wayne Prescot, he kicked the ball forward for David Fairclough to dribble the ball over the line to score.
With Clock now firmly in control David Hamilton put the game out of the visitors reach when he forced his way through from acting half-back.
Leigh East continued to compete throughout the game but poor ball handling in the muddy conditions and excellent defensive work by the Clock defence stopped them adding to their score.
The scoring was finished off by winger Gary Johnson, who returned to the field with just minutes to go after being sin binned, and from acting half-back dummied the defence and strode through under the posts, giving Cooney an easy conversion, and Clock a well deserved win.
Best for Clock were Steve Hayes and Carl Thompson.
