Thatto Heath 41 Folly Lane 20 HEATH were flattered by this scoreline after they had coasted through the opening period.
They raced into a 22-0 lead only to see Folly Lane rally in the second half to come within two points of them.
But with only 10 minutes left scrum-half Barry Ashall proved to be Heath's match winner with two tries and a drop goal.
Heath scored as early as the fifth minute when strong running prop Jimmy Waterworth latched on to an inside pass from Darren Harris to score under the post. Centre Wayne Jackman added the conversion and Heath were on their way. Five minutes later Harris again set up a try, this time prop Phil Southward was the benefactor. But Folly Lane showed their intentions when stand-off Baines followed up his own up-and-under to score. After the interval, second row Caffery scored out wide when he supported a superb break by centre Woodward. Hulme added the conversion and Folly Lane were back in the game. Substitute Delhunty was next to score and when Hulme was on target with the extras, Folly were on a roll.
A mix-up in the Heath defence then let centre Woodward in for a try out wide. Hulme missed the chance to draw level with the conversion.
But then Ashall took control for Heath. First he battled his way through three defenders to score and his second was from a well taken pass from second row Carl Cooper. Jackman was on target with both conversions to give Heath a 34-20 score line. Ashall then added his drop goal before Carl Cooper sealed the victory for Heath with a try late on in the game.
