ANGRY bus users say Stagecoach bosses should try a taste of their own service and see how bad it is.
More than 400 have signed a petition complaining about buses failing to turn up and running late on the Burnley Wood route, which ran every 20 minutes from the bus station to Towneley before recent changes to the timetable.
They say the poor service is hitting the old and the young, and will lead to people becoming ill.
Pensioner Bernard Tierney and his colleagues at Burnley Wood Community Centre say they have have had no response from representatives of Stagecoach after inviting them to a meeting, nor has there been any explanation for the poor service.
Mr Tierney said: "The bus drivers aren't to blame, but they are the ones taking all the flack. When the changes came in a few months ago the route was curtailed so that now it only goes to Huffling Lane and the time allowed was cut.
"They haven't allocated enough time for the journeys or for the traffic."
Stagecoach operations manager Philip Brown said: "We are aware of the problem and are introducing another bus into the service."
He said a representative would attend a public meeting called by the group at Gerald Court on December 11.
