THE Shrimps thundered back up to third place in the Conference on Saturday following a blitz which saw Telford's defence crumble in five minute goal feast. And the jubilant fans had even more to cheer about as rival teams at the top of the table dropped points and drew their games to boost Morecambe's victory. The game got off to a shaky start with an energetic home side threatening Morecambe's goal twice until the Shrimps picked up speed, and after just 25 minutes had put away three glorious goals.

New signing Andy Milner began to trouble the home side and 20 minutes into the first half Andy Grimshaw volleyed home his pass to see the ball curl into the top corner of the net.

Two minutes later John Norman got into the action, sneaking the ball past the 'keeper, gaining his tenth goal of the season to make it 2-0.

The fans were in raptures three minutes later as Andy Milner volleyed home his first goal for his new club after a cracking pass from Mark Shirley.

Telford had no response to the Shrimps but managed to save face with Turner striking the cross-bar ten minutes before the second half.

Following the break Tim Langford managed to scrape a goal back for the home side and Purdie nearly made it 3-2 with a 25-yard lob.

Morecambe launched a counter attack against Dudley's goal but he managed to save shots by Norman and Mayers.

The visitors threatened throughout and the sweet smell of victory was never out of reach for the super Shrimps.
